What is Kinetic Link (KLT)?
Kinetic link training or KLT is a training system that incorporates the lower body, core and upper body into a systematic program to address your movement deficits.
Traditional exercises focus on training one structure or muscle group at a time. This is great for the start of rehab or to address an individual component. The downside is that it does not translate to every day activities or your sporting movement patterns. Without coordinating your joints and muscles to move from one body part to the next you will have reduced performance and you will be more susceptible to injury. This becomes particularly obvious with increased training load or fatigue. |
Who is KLT for?
What to expect with a KLT session?
In your initial session your physiotherapist will identify which components of your movement patterns are lacking. They will test your muscle length, strength and coordination. They will also test your joint mobility and compare them to age adjusted normal values. You will be guided through a series of entry level exercises to gauge your baseline technique and exercise capacity. From here your physio will design an individualised exercise program for you.
In the subsequent sessions you will work with your physiotherapist to progress through your exercise program either in an individual setting or a group class. Give us a call or have a chat with one of our physiotherapists to see if KLT is right for you. |
