A Letter from our Directors
Dear Valued Physio Labs Clients,
Thank you for choosing Physio Labs for your healthcare needs.
It has been an unprecedented world for over 18 months now, with significant impacts felt across the world and Australia. Whilst there is optimism on the horizon, there are some elements that have impacted us all.
During this period, we have attempted to minimise the impact, including financial, on our patients and teams. We have covered rising costs, increases from suppliers and have attempted to ensure that you continue to receive the best in quality care. We implemented complimentary community triage sessions during COVID-19 to reduce the burden on hospitals and assist those experiencing financial stress. We made the decision to freeze any patient fee increases during COVID-19 and have avoided doing so for 2 (two) years.
We chose a freeze despite private health funds increasing your membership premiums over the past few years (how much you pay) and not passing on any rebate rises to Physiotherapists as health care providers, the people who are delivering the service.
There are now financial impacts beyond our control which we can no longer sustain. As a result, Physio Labs will see a fee increase to our standard consult patient fees.
The financial impacts that have been beyond our control include:
This decision has not been made lightly. The new fee increases will be introduced Monday 12 July 2021.
If you wish to know your new gap fee, please contact our Reception team, or send us an email and we can confirm the new fee which you will then be able to check directly with your private health fund. If you have any concerns regarding this, please let us know.
Thank you again for your ongoing support and please always know that patient care, treatment, and quality will never be compromised at Physio Labs.
Kind regards
Sean Yates
Director

The financial impacts that have been beyond our control include:
- The Fair Work Commission has advised of increases to the award by 2.5% from 1st July. Last year award pay rates increased by 1.75%. These have and will be passed on to all our valued employees, who have been incredible throughout the past 12 months and have done everything they can to provide continuity of care throughout turbulent times.
- Accompanied by the superannuation increase for all staff from 9.5% to 10%
- Our rent and outgoings for each of our premises continue to increase by a minimum of 3% annually.
This decision has not been made lightly. The new fee increases will be introduced Monday 12 July 2021.
