Derek Wong | Physiotherapist - Level 6
Derek graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013. He has been working in private practice ever since. Derek’s journey to becoming a physio started back in high-school. Playing sport 6 days a week eventually took a toll and he needed a great physio. It was through these interactions he developed a passion for caring and committing to a swift recovery with better results.
Luckily for us he is not completely broken and he continues to help patients walk out better than they walked in. Derek’s passion revolves around helping you excel in your desired goal. Whether it is walking the dog pain free or beating your triathlon personal best. He understands that every end goal is composed of functional and clinical milestones. Every milestone has its own hurdles and every hurdle has its own unique emotion. Regardless of your injury or end goal Derek will keep in check the big picture and have you fighting fit. Derek believes that identifying the source of the problem is one of the major hurdles in fixing your injury. Thoroughly assessing not only the problem area but ‘how’ your whole body works or doesn’t work together can reveal many sources of the problem. To target the source of your problem he uses the full complement of his skill set to help you achieve your great result. Derek doesn’t just believe in providing a health service. He genuinely cares about healthcare. At Ormeau Physio, we are a team physios dedicated to getting our patients better quicker.
